Larry Dale Bailey, of Spring, TX, was born October 9, 1943, in Houston, TX to Donald and Geneva Bailey.

He passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the age of 68.

Larry graduated from Spring Branch High School and Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

He married his beloved wife, Shirley, on August 31, 1963. Larry was a CPA in Houston for his entire career.

He worked at Reed Tool Company, Baker Hughes, Sysco Foods, and Martin Foods.

He was active in church, serving as a deacon and a choir member at Houston's First Baptist and Tallowood Baptist Church.

He also enjoyed working with his hands and built the stage for HFBC Christmas Pageant and a bed and playhouse for his grandchildren along with his father.

He will be remembered as a loving son, father, and grandfather, a gracious host, and a generous man.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bailey, and his sister, Donna Lewis.

He is survived by his mother, Geneva Bailey, his wife, Shirley Bailey, his daughter, Michelle Edmonds & her husband, Tracey, his son, Michael Bailey, and his grandchildren, Tyler and Morgan Edmonds.

The family wishes to thank the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center, especially Dr. Donna Weber, Tiffany Richards, Sonia Davis, the Fast Track Team, the staff on the 15th floor, and the entire staff of the Lymphoma & Myeloma Clinic.

Visitation will be held at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Rd., Tuesday, June 5 from 6-8 pm.

Services will be held at Tallowood Baptist Church, 555 Tallowood Rd. on Thursday, June 7 at 11:30 am with Dr. Duane Brooks and Rev. Larry Bertrand officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery and a lunch reception at the church.

Pallbearers will be Don Lewis, David Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Weldon Lewis & Micheal Krzesienski. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Williams, Joe McGee, Bill Woods, Jim Smith, Ron Bruce, Conrad Walsh, Charlie Mason, and Ken Simms.
