Janet S. Nitterhouse was the daughter of William and Bessie (Wise) Sites.

She was a 1933 graduate of Chambersburg High School. She worked throughout out her life . She was employed at Lettekenny Army Depot, the Stanley Company, Flohr's Laundromat, Tots-to-Teens, Tobey's and Eyerley's. She was a member of the King Street United Brethren Church.

On Valentine's Day of 1946, she married Kenneth L. Nitterhouse. They became the parents of two daughters: Constance and Wanda. Connie Nitterhouse Jagow preceded her parents in death in 1982.

In addition to her husband, Janet was survived by her daughter Wanda, of Harrisburg; two grandchildren (Melanie Martin Cox and Todd Martin); 4 great-grandchildren (Andrew and Brian Cox, Emerson and Davis Martin) and two step-grandchildren (Paul and Mark Jagow), all of California; and her sister Thelma Sites Whiteman. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Sept. 19, 2021, my mother's beloved grand-kitty (AdoraBelle Nitterhouse), the cat who won the heart of a woman who was not fond of pets, joined her and dad in Heaven.
