Mr. Thomas Hendricks, Obion County's oldest citizen, died December 18, 1906, at 3 a.m. aged 93 years, nine months and three days. he was born in Salisbury, North Carolina, March 14, 1813. Before he left home he married Miss Trout and then moved to Dyer County where they lived three or four years. From there he moved to Obion County in July 1853. His wife has been dead 17 years last March. To this union ten children have been born, two boys and eight girls. Of these five are now living, namely: Miss Mary Ann Wood of Texas, Miss Ebie Gibbons, of Texas, Mrs. Fannie Bame, of Chicago, Mrs. S. J. Harmon, at home, Mrs. Laura Ferguson, near home. The service was held at the home of the deceased by Rev. J. kenyon Boyd, of the C.P. church, of which organization Mr. Hendricks was a member. The interment was on the farm.
