Hezekiah Alley was born in Marshall County, (West) Virginia in 1824 and died at Webster, S. D., on January 14, 1898. Mr. Alley's father moved to Tyler, now Wetzel County, W. Va., and settled on Big Fishing Creek, where the deceased lived and grew up to manhood. He married Nancy Milburn. They then settled on Lynn Camp, where he lived until some time before the Civil War, when he moved to Big Fishing Creek, near Pine Grove, W. Va. He remained there until 1865,when he sold out and went to Minnesota, where he opened up a large farm. He again sold out and moved to Howard Lake, a town on the Great Northern Railroad and remained there about seven years, until he moved to Webster, S. D., where he died. Mr. Alley leaves three sons, two daughters and seven grandchildren. Two sons and two daughters live in Webster and one son lives in Wright County, Minn. Two sons are attorneys. Mr. Alley was laid to rest on Sunday, January 16, 1898, alongside his wife in Watertown Cemetery in Corner County.
