Mr. Conrad Marcelius Haaland Jr., 82, of Union City died at 6:31 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at the Regional Hospital at Memphis.
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at First Assembly of God in Union City. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.

Mr. Haaland was born July 7, 1929, in Montevideo Chippewa, Minnesota, son of the late Conrad Marcelius Haaland Sr. and the late Gunhild Johanna (Jacobsen) Haaland. He married the former Cornelia Wilhelmina Francina (Rondeau) Haaland on November 28, 1974. She survives.
Mr. Haaland was employed as a civil service naval engineer for thirty six years and was employed as a engineer for Lockheed Martin in San Diego for ten years. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Union City.
Mr. Haaland was a former member of Grace Baptist Church in Sonoma, California where he had served as a deacon, bus driver and taught a young men's leadership class. He was a toastmaster for twenty years and a square dance caller. Mr. Haaland served in the United States Army.
He is also survived by three daughters, Jeanne Vincent of Seguin, Texas, Esther Bea of Junction City, Kansas and Erica Nater of Newberry, Florida; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; and one brother.
