She was born April 25, 1917 to Thomas Henry & Leonora Ruth Darr Marney in, Cherokee County, Kansas.
She married Jesse Raymond Alexander on August 18, 1940 in Mound Valley, Kansas.
Della and Raymond had two daughters: Karin (Robert) Roubideaux, Hutchinson and Judy (Glenn) Hageman, McPherson. Grandchildren are: Brent (Michelle) Brigman, Mansfield, TX, Brady Brigman, Hutchinson, Shana (Alex) Carbajal, Newton, Aaron Budge, Newton, and Curtis (Grace) Cooper, Philippines. There are four step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Della was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Tom, Joe & John Marney; one sister, Margaret Berry; four half-brothers Robert, Albert, Carl, & Jasper Marney; and two half-sisters, Mabel Marney & Hattie McBee; grandson, Bradley Brigman and granddaughter, Karla Brigman.
Della was a member of Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, rural Inman, Kansas.
Della and Raymond were very active in the Kansas Sunchasers, Y2K Campers and NCHA as well as past officers. They were also members of Eastern Star and Hutchinson Water Sports Club.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson, Kansas from 4-7:00 p.m. with family present 5-7:00 p.m..
Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday June 5, 2012 at the McPherson Cemetery, prior to the memorial service.
The memorial service will be conducted at the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, by Reverend Cleo Koop,on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. with lunch served immediately after.
