Facts on his brothers/children:

• According to Morton's History of Pendleton County, page 336, Aquilla Roby and wife Catharine resided on Jackson's River in that portion that later became Highland County and that he, Aquilla, died around 1800.

• Aquilla had married Catherine Cunningham, August 12, 1799, Bath County, and moved to Randolph County, now West Virginia.

• Catherine is probably a sister to James Cunningham who married Kezia Barnet, September 08, 1794,

• Bath County, another daughter of Thomas and Jemima Barnet.

• 25 June 1810, Aquilla and Catharine Roby, Randolph County, to William Dinwiddy, 82 acres on the northeast side of Jacksons River adjoining John Smith and Cartwright. Patented 4 September 1795.

• Census records acknowledged in Randolph County, June 1810.
• As found on the 1810 census, Aquila Roby had settled in Randolph County.

• By 1810, according to the census, Patrick and Thomas Roby were listed together, settled in Harrison County, probably in the Collins Settlement area.

• Elkanah Roby is also found in Harrison County on "Aquilla's run", named after their brother, in the area that later became the Collins Settlement of Lewis County.

• Here Elkanah and Charlotte's children married in the 1820 to 1840 time period.

• While I am not certain of Patrick Robey's father...and of course I would like to confirm both his father and his mother...I am guessing but I believe his mother and his father to be Patrick and Margaret Robey/Roby.

From the Lewis County Chancery Court Order Book (1850-1859), page 206, dated Nov. 5th, 1851, is quoted the following:

"It appearing to the Court that Elkanah Roby in his life time became the purchaser of 277 acres of land sold by Minter Bailey Commissioner of Delinquent and Forfeited Lands for Lewis County as forfeited, in the name of Frederick Folley, and has fully paid off the purchase money for said land. That since the paid purchase the said ELKANAH ROBY HAS DEPARTED THIS LIFE INTESTATE leaving (1) Jemimah Jones, wife of William Jones, (2)Margaret Straley, wife of George Straley, (3)John Roby, (4)Thomas P. Roby, (5)Polly Hefner, wife of John Hefner, (6)Rebecca Stutler, wife of Elias Stutler, (7) Elkanah Roby, and (8)Elizabeth Mealy, wife of Robert Mealy, his heirs at law: On motion of the said heirs at law of said Elkanah Roby, deceased, it is Ordered that said Bailey as such Commissioner do convey said land to said heirs of law of said Elkanah Roby, deceased, according to law."

The likelihood of Patrick Robey being buried in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery is probably nil. This cemetery was established in 1883. Although, President Abraham Lincoln's body was moved 4 times before it was finally laid to rest. I highly doubt his body is in this cemetery. I only chose it because there are a lot of Robey's buried here.

The truth is I don't know where he is...please help me find him to complete this memorial...keep your eye's open while you are at the cemetery...any cemetery taking pictures. He is most likely in a family cemetery, or buried next to one of his children or one of his parents...in which case get pictures of all the markers. Thank you so much!
