Barbara A. Miller, age 83, of Upper Arlington, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

A graduate of West High School, she worked for 35 years as a bookkeeper for the Methodist Conference Trustees and later, the Methodist Children's Home.

She was a lifelong member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Barbara was very active in the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron of Minerva Chapter 101, O.E.S. (now, Triangle Chapter 592), as well as serving as Grand Chaplain of the 1987 Grand Chapter of Ohio, O.E.S.

She was also a member of Thebes Temple 87, Daughters of the Nile, and Thea Court 5, L.O.S.N.A. An avid doll collector, she was a member of the Olentangy Valley Doll Club.

She was a volunteer at the Upper Arlington Public Library for many years and a member of the Norwester Women's Club.

Her husband, Robert K. Miller, precedes her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca A. Miller, D.V.M.; grandchildren, Joseph and Elisabeth Zummo; cousins, Sonya Albery, Scheila Sanderson , Sharan Haworth, and Beverly Rasner; special friends, Annie Rowland, Pat Best, and Dorothy Scheibel; special puppy, Tigger; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2005 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where a funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005, with interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 2480 West Broad Street, Columbus , Ohio 43204 or to the Friends of the Upper Arlington Public Library, 2800 Tremont Road, Columbus , Ohio 43221 in her memory.
