Peter J. Gilbert died at his home 41 Swift Street at 1:15 this morning, after an illness of nearly three years. He had been confined to his bed only a few weeks. Mr. Gilbert has been a resident of this city nearly 50 years. He was a carpenter by trade and during the latter part of his life took contracts for such work. He was widely known. He is survived by three daughters Mrs. Harry Gorder of Cincinnati, O., Mrs. Leon Burtin of Rochester and Mrs. E. P. Vosburg of Auburn; four sons Henry and Albert of this city, Silas of Geneva, and Edward of Elko, Nev.; three sisters, Mrs. Adele Bannon and Mrs. Julia Bunce of this city, Mrs. Laura Chetney of Fulton; two brothers, Cleophas of Auburn and Albert of Providence, R.I. The funeral will leave the family home Saturday morning at 8:15. Services will take place at St. Alphonsus Church at 9 O'clock. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
