Scott M. LaShelle, 57, passed into God's hands on May 28, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of Earl Jr. and Ann Ough LaShelle of Savanna, IL. Scott is survived by his wife of 26 years Melody Young LaShelle, his sons Blake, 26; Cody, 23; and Cameron 19, all from Berea, KY. In addition to his wife and kids, Scott is survived by his parents Earl Jr. and Ann LaShelle, his sister Jan (Mark) Bradshaw, his brother Craig (Joleen) LaShelle all of Savanna, IL and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Scott was formerly from Savanna, IL where he attended Lincoln School and Savanna High School. Scott was an All-Conference basketball player and attended Black Hawk College in Kewanee, IL.
During the 1970's and 1980's he worked in Chicago with the railroad. Scott graduated in 1987 after completing studies at the US Army Defense Ammo Center School in Savanna, IL. Scott enjoyed traveling with his family, through the many countries his job required. Scott was currently employed as a CSEPP coordinator with the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, KY. Scott received many awards, including employee of the year. He enjoyed his job and fellow co-workers.
Scott was an active coach with the Special Olympics of Madison County for many years.

Scott will be missed by his loving family and friends.
Funeral services for Scott will be 2pm Wednesday at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Rowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 pm Wednesday before the services.
