Joan Adeline Fiala Collender

Joan Adeline Collender went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2012 at her home in Broomfield, CO. She was 81.
Joan was born on August 28, 1930 in Boulder, CO to Lambert F. Fiala and Pearl E. Crout Fiala. Joan attended schools in Boulder, graduating from Boulder High School in 1948 and she attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. After college, she worked at the Public Service Company in Boulder and then traveled to and settled in California, holding various jobs within City Hall in the Los Angeles area where she would later meet her future husband. She married James "Jim" Eugene Collender on May 25, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as an art director for many companies and pursued his Western Art career throughout their marriage.
Joan was a wonderful wife, mother, cook, great seamstress and loved to knit. Joan also had a passion for studying Genealogy which she loved spending her later years in life doing. She and Jim spent the majority of their lives in Colorado moving for a few years to Goodyear, Arizona before returning back to Colorado again. Joan was a member of Good News Community Church in Broomfield, Colorado.
Joan is preceeded in death by her husband Jim, in February, 2011.
