John Denmark was born in Bulloch County, Georgia, the son of Redden Denmark. He was married in Bulloch County, Georgia on July 8, 1830 to Mourning Hagin born in Bulloch County, Georgia. Mourning was the daughter of Solomon Hagin and granddaughter of John Hagin. They had 11 children. John Denmark and his family moved to what was then Lowndes County, now Brooks County. Georgia in 1837. They lived there until around 1855 when they moved to Taylor County, Florida, where they homesteaded lands and made their home there until John's death and Mourning died approximately a year later. John & Mourning were buried in the town cemetery in Perry, Florida.
