William was the son of William Charles Burns and Elizabeth Johnson Bell Burns. William Cunie Burns married Mamie Belle Cook and they had 2 daughters and a son, but the son died in infancy. Two years after Mamie died he married Alene Hawkins. He and Alene had no children. He was a conductor for the Southern Railroad. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Macon, GA. He lived to be 87 years old.
