Regena Fix Johnson, 100, of Windsor, died on Thursdday, Nov 3, 2011 at her home.
She was born in Shenandoah and was a daughter of the late Henry A and Beatrice Fix.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Windsor Baptist Church where she was a deacon, served as moderator and was music director for 47 years.
She was a graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree, and also attended the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of the Virginia Music Teachers Association, the Music Teachers National Association and a cerified teacher of both. She was also a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, the Tidewater Music Teachers Forum and had served both the forum and state association in various offices.
Mrs. Johnson was active in many civic affairs over the years, among them a past president of the Southside District of the Virginia Federation of Women's clubs, past president of the Woman's Club of Windsor, advisor to the Junior Woman's Club, a Girl Scout leader, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and Past Worthy Matron of Sinai Chapter 18, Order of the Eastern Star.
Her husband A. Dunston Johnson preceded her in death.
A funeral service was conducted on Monday, Nov 7, at Windsor Baptist Church by the Rev. John Corson and the Rev. Bryan Brooks.
Burial was in Windsor Cemetery.
