ROZEL — John G. Price, 91, died Oct. 23 at Larned Healthcare. He was born Oct. 20, 1912, at Rush County, the son of Frank and Effie Riggs Price. A lifetime Rozel resident, he was a retired farmer, a rancher and a horse trainer.
He married Amanda I. Schenk, Nov. 14, 1934. She died April 1, 2003.
Price was a member of Hope Luthran Church in Rush Center, Rozel Lions Club and Larned Saddle Club.
Survivors include one son, John G. Price Jr. and his wife Shirley of Rozel; one daughter, Donna Wells of Newton; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Price of Larned; two sisters, Ola Wolter and Opal Meier, both of LaCrosse; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Price; one son-in-law Glenn Wells; three sisters, Carrie Kitch, Blanche Appel and Eva O'Brien; and five brothers, Clarence Price, Charles Price, Harley Price, Clovis Price and Jack Price.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Maurice Schaus officiating. Burial will be at LaCrosse Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Price house in Rozel. Memorials are suggested to the church or Larned Healthcare, both in care of Beckwith Mortuary
