Beckwith, Lucy Ann
Lucy Ann Beckwith, widow of the late Simon Beckwith, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Fred West, last Saturday, aged 78 years. the funeral will be held Monday afternoon at half past two o'clock.
Mrs. Beckwith was the daughter of Jeremiah W. and Hester A. Jenks and was born in Bridfort, Vt., May 2, 1817. She was married to Simon Beckwith on June 29, 1837, in Crown Point, N. Y. and moved to St. Clair, Oct. 28, 1855.
They bought a farm about two and a half miles north west of this city and were living there at the time of the death of Mr. Beckwith, April 8, 1881.
Mrs. Beckwith united with the Baptist church in Crown Point in 1835, uniting with Baptist church in this city in 1856, where she has been a faithful member for forty years.
Three children grieve the loss of a fond mother, Charles T., Ben F. and Arzella Jenda. she leaves fourteen grandchildren and ten great grand children.
Mrs. Beckwith was the only surviving sister of B. W. and R. H. Jenks of this city.
