She married Dr. Bonney when she was about age 14 on 3 November, 1831 in Satartia, Yazoo, Mississippi and the couple had 13 children. Dr. C. D. Bonney practiced medicine in Yazoo, Mississippi, owned a plantation in Satartia, Yazoo, Mississippi and traveled back and forth from Kentucky to Mississippi. He was killed on the Mississippi River 2 February 1866 when the steamship he was traveling on blew up. He was born 13 October 1801 in Norfolk, Virginia.
