He was a truck driver for ABF for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church and a US Army veteran of WWII.
Mr. Ackerman was preceded in death by his wife, Jose' Davis Ackerman.
He is survived by six daughters, Carol Pahud, Lynda Martin, Deborah Ackerman, Victoria Males, Jane Rosemark and Heather Hemdal; son, David Ackerman and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 2, in the Emmaus Lutheran Church, 1224 South Laurel Street. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Friday, August 1, in the G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue.
