Catherine B. Anderson

Miss Catherine B. Anderson, 67 years, died in a nursing home in Kansas City yesterday afternoon, following confinement by illness for several months. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers, as follows: Mrs. J.C. Wright of Emporia, Kansas, Mrs. E.H. Newcomb of Kansas City, Mrs. Zula Barry of Neosho, and Will G. Anderson and Ollie Anderson of Neosho.

Miss Anderson was born in St. Jacobs, Illinois, June 19, 1878. When she was a small child, the family moved to Yankton, South Dakota, and after spending three years there came to Southwest City in McDonald County in 1884. In 1889 the family came to Neosho, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James G. Anderson, resided here until their deaths. During the years of her youth Miss Anderson received instruction and schooling as a player and teacher of the piano. Over 40 years ago she went to Oklahoma, spending a few years at Anadarko, and then going to Oklahoma City, where she spent the greater part of her adult life as a successful music teacher.

For many years she was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Although she has not resided in Neosho for many years, yet she was known and will be remembered by many of our older citizens.

Her body will be brought to Neosho today and funeral services conducted by Rev. A.E. Landolt will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the chapel of the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery.
