VAUXHALL - A
family dinner was held recently
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Owens, in honor cf .Mr.
and Mrs. W. Runyan, who marked
their 58th wedding anniversary
on June 20. Guests included
Mr. and Mrs. Runyan, Mr.
and Mrs. Claude Sutton and
children, Vernon and family
from Lethbridge, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Conner . and children,
and D. "Doc" Bowers and Theresa.
Aunt Lucy and Uncle Will
—as they are known by the
family and close friends — were
married on June 20, 1834 in
Waynetown, Indiana.

RUNYAN — Passed 'away at
Taber on Thursday, March 27,
William Eli (Uncle Bill) of
A Vauxhall, at the
age of 95 years.
He is survived by
a foster daughter, Mrs. M a r y
Kline, Waynetown, Indiana;
niece, Mrs. Lester (Marjorie)
Tonge, Vauxhall; great nieces,
Mrs. Marybelle Jensen, Calgary,
Mrs. Cathern Connor,
Vauxhall; great nephews, Russel
Owens, Vauxhall, Charles
Runyan, Albuquerque, New
Mexico and several other nieces
and nephews in the States.
He was predeceased by his
wife Lucy in 1955 and one son
Raymond and one foster son,
Charles Owens. He was born
at Waynetown, Indiana May 3,
1873, married at Waynetown
June 20, 1894. He worked as a
butcher and mail carrier before
coming to Vauxhall in 1916. He
purchased land in New West
area, moved to Vauxhall where
he worked as a butcher in various
stores. He was a post master
and life member of Masonic
Lodge in Waynetown, Indiana
and affiliated with Lucerne
Lodge in Vauxhall. Funeral
services will be conduct
ed from the Vauxhall Evangelical
Free Church on Monday
March 3, with Rev
K. McNeil and Rev. C. L
McNaughton officiating. Interment
will follow in Vauxhal
Cemetery. Humphries Funeral Home,
Taber in charge.
