"Mrs Joseph Esmay died at her home on Monitor street, Schenevus, Friday noon, June 11th, after an illness of two weeks, aged seventy-nine years. Mrs. Esmay was an active member of the Baptist church at Schenevus, a woman much respected and honored by all who knew her. Besides her husband, Mrs. Esmay is survived by one son, Melvin Esmay and one grandson, Ray Esmay, who resides near Westford, and one grandson, Neil Esmay of Cooperstown. The funeral was held from the Baptist church, Sunday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, the Rev. C. H. Colgrove officiating and his remarks were a tribute to the life and character of a good woman.
