Sister Marcellita was an elementary school teacher and principal at St. Anthony's, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, New Hampton and Mason City, Iowa, Chicago and Rock Island, Ill., Milwaukee, Wis., Wichita, Kan., Butte, Mont., and Lincoln, Neb.
She was born Agnes Lorraine Brown on April 10, 1912, in Peosta, Iowa, daughter of Leo and Gertrude (McGovern) Brown.
She made her first profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1930, and her final profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1936.
Surviving are her sisters, Sister Gertrude Ann Brown, OSF, and Monica Digman, of Dubuque; her brother, Kenneth Brown, of Tacoma, Wash.; her sister-in-law, Elaine Brown, of Farley, Iowa, and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 79 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marcella Miller, Isabelle Mueller and Ramona Brown; and four brothers, Cyril, Loras, Mark and Jerome.
