He is survived by his children H. Ralph (Birdie), Martha (Don Ridall), and S. Louise, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Born December 31, 1921 to Harry and Nora Simpson he married Shirley May Dawson on September 1, 1950.
Harry received a BS in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1950. He began his career as a design engineer and advanced to project engineer, group leader and later became a Licensed Patent Agent and managed the Patents and Special Projects for Dresser Ind.
He was given the Outstanding Achievement Award of the North Texas American Society of Mech. Engineers in 1986. He held 8 patents when he retired.
He loved his country and proudly served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during W.W. II.
Harry was a master gardener and raised orchids and cacti for many years. He got his love for photography from his parents who were professional photographers.
In his retirement years, his passion turned to running scale models of railroad steam engines with the SW Live Steamers. Harry and Shirley shared this hobby with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by attending and participating in train meets all over Texas.
Most of all Harry loved, cared, and provided for his wife and children. He was always ready to volunteer to help friends and those in need.
Harry and Shirley were active members of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
We were blessed to have Harry and Shirley as our parents.
Memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 6550 Samuel Blvd., Dallas.
