Ralph Henry Blohm Jr., age 86 of Zimmerman, MN passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Ralph Henry Blohm Jr. was born February 20, 1926 in Wabasha County, MN the son of Ralph and "Grace" Nancy (Scholer) Blohm.
In 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WWII.
In 1956, Ralph was united in marriage with Catherine Smith. The couple made their home in Bloomington where Ralph worked as a firefighter for the Veterans Administration. Catherine passed away in 1978.
On April 5, 1986, Ralph was united in marriage with Dorothy Crabtree in Bloomington, Minnesota. After Ralph's retirement in 1990, the couple made their home near Zimmerman on Blue Lake.
Ralph was a member of the Princeton Evangelical Free Church, the Masons Unizar Lodge #347 in Minneapolis, Masons Fraternal Lodge #92 in Princeton, and served on the board for the Princeton Pantry.
Ralph enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, was an excellent cook and talented wood craftsman.
He is survived by step-children: Walter (Barbara) Crabtree of Silver Bay, Keven (Debbie) Crabtree of Fergus Falls, Paul (Starr) Crabtree of Santa Ana, CA, Dianne Johnson of Chaska, Todd (Terryl) Crabtree of Scandia, Mary Ann (Dan) Workman of Zimmerman; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Irene Blohm of Rochester; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wives: Catherine and Dorothy; grandson: Anthony Crabtree; sister: Grace Bernhardt and brother: Neil Blohm.
Visitation: 6-8 PM Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton, MN and also one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church.
Funeral service: 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Princeton Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Al Schirmacher and Pastor Bill Yueill will officiate.
Interment: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN
