Mrs. Ara Adams, 84, died Thursday morning in a Topeka hospital after being severely burned in her home at 115 West Grant.
Apparently the burns were a result of an explosion in a stove.
Mrs. Adams is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry Gallently; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jack Sullivan; and two great granddaughters, all of Topeka.
Mrs. Adams was born in Ashland county, Ohio, moving to Topeka at the age of 16. Her husband, Charles F. Adams, who died in 1944, for 17 years operated a grocery store on the site of the present North Topeka post office.
She also leaves three brothers, Mort Norris of La Grange, O., and Edward Norris and Howard Norris, both of Wellington, O.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday at the Eslinger funeral home; burial will be in the Topeka cemetery.
