EDMONDS Brownie Lee Edmonds, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away November 27, 2011. He was born May 2, 1924 in Owen County, KY, the son of Spence and Kate Edmonds. Brownie was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps with service in WWII in the South Pacific, and later retired from the U.S. Navy following a 30 year military career. He was a member of The Church at Argyle, the Fleet Reserve Assoc. Branch #126, the Riverside Lodge #266 F. & A.M., and the Shriners. Brownie is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret Edmonds; his daughters Gloria Jean Bosar (Jim), Ginger Lee Ellison (Gerald), Glenda Joyce Clark, and Wendy Gail Wright; his son James Howard Edmonds; also 8 grandchildren Shawn Smith, Amy McCorkell, Mary Kay Hanson, Derek and Matthew Ellison, and Nicole, Leanne, and Deanna Wright; 8 great grandchildren Brandy, Terri, and Jonathon Shaulis, Abigail McCorkell, Brian Hanson, Grace, Brady, and Camryn Ellison. Funeral services for Brownie will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday November 30, 2011 in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park with Rev. Rick Painter officiating. Mr. Edmonds will be laid to rest in Jacksonville Memory Gardens with full military honors conferred. Family members and friends will gather on Tuesday evening (TONIGHT) from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorial donations in his name be made to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
