Joe D. Adcock, 77, of Watkinsville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 at his residence. A native of Oconee County, he was born August 23, 1928 to the late James Lewis Adcock and the late Ann Adcock Porter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Benjamin Lewis Adcock; Watkinsville, Patrick Edward Adcock, Bogart; Walter Daniel Adcock, Atlanta; and a sister, Jane Adcock Ashley, Watkinsville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Adcock was well known for raising and trading livestock. Later he became an auctioneer and auctioned at several livestock barns. He was a member of Bishop United Methodist Church, Watkinsville VFW Post #9147.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clifford Adcock, a daughter, a son, a daughter-in-law, grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; one brother Jimmy Adcock, Watkinsville; one sister Mavis Keyes, Bogart and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
