Emil Schenian, 83, formerly of 706 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening in Holy Family Hospital Extended Care Facility, Manitowoc.


Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Schneider & Purath Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffman will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


Mr. Schenian was born March 4, 1894 in Gibson, son of the late Steven and Catherine Steber Schenian. He received his education in Town of Gibson schools. He married Agnes Schlies June 12, 1917 in Melnik. She preceded him in death in 1974. They farmed in the Melnik area until 1941 moving to Manitowoc. He then worked for Spevacek Builders and later was employed with the A.P. Dairy Division as a night watchman until retirement in 1959. Mr. Schenian was a member of Teamsters Union No. 619 and St. Paul's Catholic Church.


Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Emma of Cato; a daughter and son-in-law, Evie and Edward Novak of Manitowoc; a son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Rudy and Geri Hartlaub of Manitowoc; a sister, Julia Panschock of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Two daughters and a son-in-law Eunice and Alfred Grall and Betty Hartlaub; three brothers, Henry, Adolph and Reuben; three sisters, Helen Carrie and Lillian and a grandson preceded her in death.


Friends may call in Schneider & Purath Funeral Home from 4o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday afternoon where a prayer service will be at 8 o'clock.
