Gideon F. Jones was born in Genesee county, New York January 4th 1820, united in marriage December 7th 1841 to Anna N. Crumb. They came to Wisconsin in 1851 residing in Fond du Lac county about ten years. During most of this time Mr. Jones preached the gospel from the M. E. pulpit. He enlisted in the civil war serving nearly three years being discharged on account of a wounded knee received at the battle of Vicksburg. They came to Sextonville in 1872 where they have ever since made their home. Mr. Jones first experienced religion when about eighteen years old and has continually been a true follower up to the time of his death which occurred June 29th 1903. He leaves a widow and five children besides a host of friends to mourn his death
