Samuel E Douglas
Nancy Lydia Hazelwood
Marriage:
He married Mamie Douglas on 5 Feb 1918
They were second cousins
Their fathers were first cousins that were close in age and grew up together in the same house. They went thru the loss of their mothers within a year of each other and became best friends and as young adults they always lived near each other; as a result, Journal and Mamie had known each other as children.
Between 1920 and 1930, Journal took his family to Indiana as did his father but it is unknown if they went together or who led the other. Journal had uncle John L who already lived in the area of Indiana but he died in 1923. Maybe his passing is what got them to thinking of a move to Indiana.
Known Children:
Jame Floyd Douglas
