Richard Melcher was born August 7, 1959, in Springfield, son of Walter Russell, Jr and Edna Gust Melcher.
surviving are his father; friend, Dawn Melcher; sons, Douglas, Michael and Bryan Melcher; grandchildren, Brooke, Amarah and Hunter; sister, Carolyn (David) Fickas; brothers, Walter III and Kevin (Barbara) Melcher and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Ronald Melcher; sister-in-law, Lana 'Toy' Melcher and an aunt, Ruth Snell.
He served in the Army from 1980-1983.
