Rodney Allen Alters February 11, 1964 - June 9, 2012 You fought a good fight but a win on earth was not to be... God reached down and took your hand and whispered, "It's time to come home to me." Rod, 48, husband, dad, son, brother to Kim, uncle to some and friend to many... was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 9, 2012, after a brave battle with brain cancer. He was born Feb. 11, 1964, in Bellefonte, the son of Dale and the late Sandra (Gayle) Alters. On June 18, 1988, Rod and his high school sweetheart, Robin Walters, were married. They are originally from Bellefonte but resided in Loganton along with their children, Taylor, 20, Alexis, 18, and Hunter,15. If asked, some would say Rod was a quiet man, to his family a good provider, his children their hero, to his friends loyal. Rod was an avid deer hunter, NASCAR fFan and Steelers fan. In the early 1990s, Rod enjoyed racing 4 cyl. purestock at Clinton County Speedway. He enjoyed going to NASCAR races with his friends, Dave Richards and Ron Bennett, and helping with butcherings every winter with his good friend, Marlin Peters. Even though we feel Rod was taken before we expected, we were willing to let him go. We will forever hold close the memories that we have of him and we have peace knowing that he received complete healing. You will be forever loved and deeply missed. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, with Pastor Timothy Imes officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Schencks Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.Kader-Neff.com.
