"Gordon Adkins Died Wednesday"

Gordon L. Adkins, 55, died Wednesday at the LaFollette Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at the Jacksboro Baptist Church by the Revs. Edward Haun and M. W. Bodlien at 2 p.m.

Mr. Adkins was a member of the Jacksboro Baptist Church, a mason, and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Kenneth, E.L., Homer and Bill of Jacksboro; two daughters, Alice of Jacksboro and Mrs. W. L. McBee, Jr. of Knoxville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Lee of Andersonville and E.H. of Norris; three sisters, Mrs. Kelly Reynolds of Andersonville, Mrs. Sarah Hunley and Mrs. W.L. Pratt of Clinton.

Military and masonic rites will be held at the grave. Burial will be in the Jacksboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. A. Conner, G. H. Smith, Winston Bowman, J. W. Hughes, H. L. Meredith and Henry Queener. Honorary pallbearers will be A. E. Perkins, Hope Weir, Frank Yoakum, H. T. Bartley, S. F. McCarty, Esco Stevens, C. E. Pennington, W. H. Archer, Jim Smith and Ken Powers.
