Born Jennet Storie to James Storie and Susan (nee Ralph) Storie. As a child she immigrated to Osnabrock, Alma Township, Cavalier Co., Dakota Territory. Among those immigrants were her father's younger brother, David Storie, and his family. The families homesteaded near Osnabrock, in Alma Township, Cavalier Co., Dakota Territory and farmed. She married John Henry in July 1894 in the village of Milton, North Dakota.

The first child, Frances, was born in nearby Pembina Co., North Dakota in 1896.

The Henry family had settled in Hubbard Co., Minnesota by 1900. By 1904 the family had grown by two more children, John and Vera.

The new decade of 1920 found the family now residents of Flathead Co., Montana. This would be their final home.
