My Friend, Dannielle Karas Kendall 1959-2012

Danielle was a beautiful lady who absolutely, positively, refused to allow me to take her photo. I had a difficult time locating these few. I was thrilled to meet her and Tony when we became neighbors. We all became fast friends. Danni and I had so many incredible times together. Lots of laughs and the occasional teary times. I have never had the pleasure of friends like Tony and Danni. They welcomed me like family, we introduced all of our friends and relatives to each other. Even our canine and feline "kids" got along and we let them party like rockstar dogs and cats. What a cast of characters! More laughs. We went through the losses of our elderly pets together. More tears.

She was always there to help, and help she did. Danni was the ultimate caregiver. She was my angel, my chauffeur to half a hundred doctors and surgeries. Danni was with me, shaking her head and laughing as I wore a bedpan on my head. Last summer, she was a slave driver, in my room making sure that I did my physical therapy exercises correctly. Thank you, Danni.

I am so honored that Danielle was my friend. I love you and miss you so much.

Dannielle's obituary:

RED LODGE — Dannielle Karas Kendall died in her home on June 9, 2012. She was the daughter of Ben and Phyllis Karas, born on Nov. 17, 1959, in Carbon County Memorial Hospital.

Dannielle spent her life making Red Lodge her home. She was a collector of all of life's greatest treasures — antiques, art, wine and wonderful memories with her family and friends.

Danni's eye for whimsy was like no other. It showed in her day-to-day attire, the décor in her home and the way she added the right amount of flair and fun to any social gathering. Danni always got the joke.

She is preceded in death by her precious son, Karas Malin, and by her father, Dr. Benjamin Karas, MD.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Tony Kendall; her daughter, Mackenzie Malin (Steve); granddaughter, Haley Rose Alexander; mother, Phyllis Karas; sisters, Stacey Land (Todd), Debra Darland (Tim), Dawn O'Shea (Michael), and brother, Bill Karas (Maggie). She also leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

Services will be held at the Karas Ranch on Thursday, June 14, at 2 p.m.
