Julius was my 2x great-grandfather. He was born and raised in Kentucky and worked as a farmer. He moved to Kansas City, Kansas, in the 1920s to live with his oldest daughter, Laura Wells, at 2207 Franklin, the family home that Laura's husband built. He died at the home in October of 1927. Besides my Great-Grandmother Laura Pedigo Wells, he was survived by his four sons, Riley of Oakland, California, Neeley of Waco, Texas, John of Lafayette, Indiana, and Moody of Indianapolis; two other daughters, Mrs. Udie Ferrell of Semiway, Kentucky, and Mrs. Belle Bybee of Clarks Hill, Indiana.

Great-Grandpa Julius was married three times and fathered twelve children. He married Mary Kessler in 1873 and they were the parents of five children. After Mary "Josie" died, Julius married Arminta Terry in 1885 and they had four children. After the death of Arminta in 1909, he married Izora Blackwell and they had three children, all died in infancy. Izora passed away in 1913, shortly after the birth of their last child.

The photo was given to my by my cousin, Glenna Mae. It appears to be taken outside of the Franklin house. Great-Grandpa Julius looks so dapper and debonair!
