According to a family tree on Ancestry.com, Louisa was the fifth of fourteen children born to Levi Sowers Witwer (1818 OH - 1887) and Elizabeth Stambach (1821 OH - 1898) who married on 5 Apr. 1840.

Her siblings were twins Allen and Samuel (b./d. 1841), Emeline (1844-1896), Annetta (1846-1933), Louisa here in 1847, Henry (1849-1915), Elias (b.1851), Mary Ann (b.1853), Elizabeth (b.1855), John Wesley (b.1857), Amanda (b.1859), Abner (1861-1862), Lucinda (1862-1948) and Minne Ellen (b./d.1864).

On 24 Feb. 1870, Louisa married Cyrus Warner in Marshall Co., Indiana. They had nine children together--Cora E. (b.1870), Daisy J. (b.1872), Mary E. (b.1874), Annie A. (b.1876), Henry M. (b.1879), Myrtle V. (b.1882), Frederick E. (b.1887), Lester Crayton (b.1891), and an unidentified child, probably born between 1883 and 1886.

I found the family on the 1870 Census, living in West Twp. (today part of Plymouth), Marshall Co., Indiana, where Cyrus was working as a "day laborer". Daughter Cora was eight months old, which puts her birth in Jan. 1870, and before Cyrus and Louisa's Feb. wedding, which seems unlikely.

On the 1880 Census, the family was still living in West Twp. and Cyrus was farming for a living. He and Louisa had welcomed Daisy, Mary, Annie and Henry. They also had a 16-year-old "servant" living with them named Frank Kieffer.

The family was still living in West Twp. on the 1900 Census, and Cyrus was still farming. Myrtle, Frederick and Lester had joined the family. Louisa reported that she had had nine children, seven of whom had survived to that census.

By the 1910 Census, the nest was empty. Cora had married John A. Crum on 4 Oct. 1885, Daisy had married Vernon Hammond on 25 Dec. 1894, Mary had married Lewis Pero on 25 Dec. 1892, Henry had married Delia Overmyer on 14 Aug. 1910, Myrtle had married George Marsh on 3 Apr. 1904, and Lester had married Mabel Emigh on 10 Feb. 1912. Annie must have died sometime between 1880 and 1900.

Cyrus died in 1919 at age 75.

I found Louisa on the 1920 Census, widowed, and living with daughter Myrtle, Mrytle's husband George Marsh, and their three children Lewis (b.1905), Edna (b.1908) and Mildred (b.1917). I also found her on the 1930 Census, living in Union Twp. (today the Argos/Culver area), Marshall Co., Indiana, widowed and living by herself. I didn't have any luck tracking her down on the 1940 Census.

Louisa died in 1942 at age 95, and was laid to rest beside Cyrus, who had been patiently waiting for her for twenty three years and thirteen days.
