Mrs. Milford died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004 at a local hospital. She was born May 18, 1908 in Atoka County to John Franklin and Amanda Bell Kiddy Butler. She attended school at Tushka and Atoka.
She came to this area in 1925 from Atoka. She married Cecil Kimbrough in June of 1925. He died in 1958. She later married L. L. Milford, Sr., in 1965. He died May 4, 1976.
Mrs. Milford was a seamstress and sales clerk for J. C. Penney Company and
Lucy's Dress Shop. She was a member the Church of Christ since 1939.
She was preceded in death by a son, William "Billy" Kimbrough, who died in
1944 while serving his country during World War II; two step-daughters, Hazel
Clinton and Theda Calvert; one step-son, Larrel Milford, Jr.; two nephews whom
she helped raise, Jim Butler and John Butler; four sisters, Oma Scott, Leona
Smith, Olive Fish and Jewell Mass; and four brothers, Earl Butler, Etherel
"Creek" Butler, Dwight Butler and Elmer Butler.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Marie Barger and husband Chester,
Purcell, and Maxine Wallace and husband Nolan, Pine Bluff, Ark.; one step-
daughter-in-law, Janie Milford, Duncan; one step-son-in-law, Kenneth Clinton
and wife Mildred, Ada; 14 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren;
and several great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are her grandsons.
Honorary bearers are Don Butler, Gene Harris, Phil Clinton, Greg Fowler,
Bennie Cope, Barry Whitworth, Tim Canfield, Ronnie Houston, David Cross and
Eric Jorgenson.
