On December 24, 1937 Mrs. Norton was married to the late George Henry Norton.
Mrs. Norton was a life long resident of the Danville and Pittsylvania County area, where she worked as a weaver for Dan River Mills until her retirement, and was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church; also she was an active member of the Dan River Retirees Club, and the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Norton is survived by a son, George Henry Norton, Jr. of the Residence, and seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Norton is preceded in death by one daughter, Shelby N. Smith, one grandson, Wayne Smith, also, two brothers and six sisters.
