Guenther, Fred O.

Fred Guenther, 80, Appleton, passed away Friday evening, May 8, 2009, at Brewster Village. Fred was born in Appleton, on Aug. 30, 1928, son of the late Fred and Florette (Zuehlke) Guenther. Fred attended Carthage College in Kenosha, and later returned to Appleton to take over the family business, Haug Fuel and Supply Company.

He is survived by his sister, Janice (Kenneth) Dorschner, Warrenton, Va.; a nieces, Karen Dorschner, also of Warrenton; and a nephew, Keith (Alice) Dorschner, Hillsborough, N.J. He also leaves behind cousins, as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Bert, who was killed in World War II.

A memorial service for Fred will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Park's Star of Hope Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Friends may call at the cemetery chapel on Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank all of the special caregivers at Brewster Village for the wonderful care they provided to Fred. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
