Age 88, died Friday, July 1, 1988 at Franciscan Care Center. He was born April 8, 1900 in Antigo, Wisconsin to Elias and Eva Tibbetts. Cecil married Mabel Gosz on October 25, 1927 in Appleton. They farmed in Ellington for nine years and Cecil retired from Morning Glory in 1967 after 17 years of service. He was a member of Keen Agers at Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. Tibbetts lived in Stephensville for 44 years before moving to Appleton last year. Survivors include his wife, Mabel; two daughters and three sons-in-law: Bonnie and Theodore Frank, Appleton; Darleen and James Verhagen, Greenville; Fred Guenther, Appleton; six grandchildren: Pamela Boyea, Larsen; Lonnie Tesch, Hortonville; Lynn Frank, Marquette, Michigan; Theodore Verhagen, Appleton; Tina and Jill Verhagen, Greenville; three great-grandchildren; Brian and Eric Boyea: and Sherry Jean Tesch. Also survived by nieces and nephews and other relative and friends. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Joyce Tesch Guenther and Marilyn Tibbetts; also a brother; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 1988 at 11 a.m. Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida St., with the Rev. Donald Zelle officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established.
