Glenn was born May 29, 1928, in Wayland, Ky., to the late Charlie and Margaret (Slone) Turner.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Charles and James Turner; two half brothers, Curtis and Ernest Collins; and seven sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Jenkins, Verlin Kenner, Clara Versluys, Fronie Turner, Mattie Kenner, Hassie "Pat" Norvel and Martha Sizemore.
"Everyone's favorite uncle," Glenn is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends, including wonderful caregivers and cousins. His family members express their thanks to these friends and the caregivers of Community Hospice Care and Autumnwood Care Center.
Glenn was a proud Homekid, growing up in the Junior Order United American Mechanics Home, Tiffin, from infancy to age 16. He especially enjoyed the annual Junior Home Homecoming events and rarely missed them. He was a retired United States Navy veteran, entering the Navy near the end of World War II. He belonged to several veterans organizations.
Glenn loved hanging out with family and friends; sports, especially golf, Detroit Tigers and Ohio State team performances; and spending time with his long-time canine companion, Reward. Glenn holds the Madison Street Tavern record for eating the most wings in a specified period of time.
Glenn's wishes were to be cremated with a memorial service at a later date.
