M. Jean Abbott, 87, of Rt. 6, Keyser, WV, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born on March 2, 1922 at Fairmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Vernon and Nell (Manley) Abbott. She was also preceded in death by her long time companion, Norma Frances Frum.
Ms. Abbott was retired as an educator with the Mineral County Board of Education. She was a 1939 graduate of Fairmont Senior High, Fairmont, WV; a 1943 graduate of Fairmont State College and also obtained degrees from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV in 1941, 1947 and 1968. She was a member of the Keyser Presbyterian Church and the Mineral County Retired School Employees. Ms. Abbott was also a former member of the Board of Directors for MCEA West Virginia Federal Credit Union.
