Carl Whitford Morgan June 2, 2004
Carl Whitford Morgan, 86, of 5670 Stevens Drive, Cicero, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Fulton, NY, March 20, 1918. He was the son of William C. Morgan and Lois Coats Morgan. Mr. Morgan retired in 1983 as an Engineer from General Electric Co. Before his 25 year tenure with GE, he was a jeweler in the family business, Morgan Jewelry Store in Watertown, NY. He served four years in the Army Air Corp., attaining the rank of Captain. He attended Yale University Air Corps Communications Cadet School and the Army Electronics Training Program at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Rensselaer Poly Technical Institute. Carl was a member of the North Syracuse V.F.W. Post 7290, Syracuse Chapter of the son of the American Revolution, Providence Plantation, First Families of Rhode Island and Liverpool Amateur Repeater Club and the Fulton Amateur Radio Club. His interests included genealogy, hunting, fishing, computers and gemology.
Carl is survived by his loving and caring wife, Millicent Colegrove, of 60 years; three daughters, Marcia H. Morgan of Chevy Chase, MD, Mindi Riley of Indianapolis, IN and Yvonne O'Brien-Saganich and her husband, William A. Saganich, Jr., of Coventry, CT; five grandchildren, Keith and Scott O'Brien, Chris and Brendan Riley and Janice Baker; two twin great- grandchildren, Aiden and Madison Baker.
Committal service will be Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home, Cicero. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are Friday 2 to 4 p.m. and the memorial service will be from 4 to 5 p.m. at 8261 South Main St. (Rt. 11), Cicero, NY
