Charles Creager Hovis, 45, died at 2:35 Wednesday afternoon at the home of his mother, Mrs. John W. Hovis, Park Street, Mont Alto. He had been ill since January 3, and had been a patient at the Waynesboro Hospital for 13 days. He had recovered sufficiently to return to his work at Frick Company found y for part time employment. He was returned to the hospital August 28, and was discharged August 30. Mr. Hovis was born at Fayetteville Route 1, son of John W. and Janet (Creager) Hovis, and most of his life was lived at Mont Alto. He was first employed by the State at the Forestry School and later at the Waynesboro Shoe Factory. He had been working in the shipping department of the Frick
foundry for the last 17 years. He was a member of the Eagles Club Inc. Waynesboro .
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Bender, and Mrs. Robert Cordell, bot h of Chambersburg Route 1; his mother and three sisters; Mrs. Irene Wile, Mont Alto; Mrs. Anna Sheffler, Waynesboro ; Mrs. Tressie McFerren, Harrisburg, and two brothers, John and Guy, both of Mont Alto.

The funeral will be held Saturday a t 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. William Gray and Rev. Lester Misner. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
