At the end of WWII, they moved to Oakland, California, along with her parents, to be near her sister, Alice Ida Buesing Hagerman and family.
After her parents deaths in 1955 and 1956, they all moved to Hayward, California. Leona and Alice were very close and in contact everyday.
Leona's ashes were buried in the same plot with her husband.
