Joyce J. Quinn Drum, 78, of Marshall, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 at Tendercare of Marshall. Joyce was born November 12, 1929 in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of Ford George and Lydia Albertha (Shouler) Kerby. She graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1947. She was a secretary in the Lansing school system for two years and then worked in various departments for the state of Michigan. Joyce later served as a secretary for the Harper Creek school system, retiring in 1988 after 25 years. Joyce married John P. Drum, III May 2, 1986 in Battle Creek and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sheryl A. Quinn of Belleville, MI; two sons, Michael A. (Kathy) and Mark K. (Sherry) Quinn of Portage, MI; two stepsons, Robert E. (Marilyn) Drum of Encino, CA and Terry L. Drum of Lansing; 4 grandchildren; 2 stepgrandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Joyce was previously married to Harry Quinn and was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kerby and two sisters, Donna Kerby and Kathryn Olmstead. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church. At the request of the family, they will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Muirhead officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
