Charles Grat McGlothin, 69, of Seaboard, Va., died Monday afternoon in a Richlands Va., hospital following a long illness.
Born in Steelsburg, Va., he was a son of the late Jake and Lynna Blankenship Mcglothlin, Tazewell County natives

He was a retired employee of Jewell Ridge, Va., Coal Company, a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local 6167 and a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emily Mae Addison McGlothlin; five daughters, Gay McGlothlin of the home; Mrs. Thelma Cole of Wardell, Va., Mrs. Virginia Pruitt of Seaboard, Mrs. Estaa M. Hess of Richlands and Mrs. Loraine H. Cox of Raven; four sons, Joe McGlothlin of Seaboard, Bill J. McGlothlin of the home, John McGlothlin of Cleveland, Ohio and Harry McGlothlin of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Vicie Goodwin of Cedar Bluff, Va.; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with Rev. Earl B. Denoff officiating, assisted by Rev. Grat Horton.
Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.

Pallbearers: Wayne Pruitt, Larry Cole, Jerry McGlohtlin, Floyd McGlothlin, William N. Childress, James Cordle, Ernest Cordle, George Roberts and William Russell.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
