News was received yesterday in Nashville of the death of Mrs. A.C. Gillem at New York where she had been in a sanitarium for some months. Mrs. Gillem is survived by her husband Capt. Alvin C. Gillem, stationed in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; two sons, A.C. Gillem, Jr., of the United States Army and Jennings Gillem, at the University of the South, and one daughter, Carolyn. The body will be brought to this city Saturday for internment. The funeral will be held from the residence of Mrs. Gillem's brother, John D. Cummins, 2209 Patterson Street, Saturday afternoon.

Cummins, the following firms will be closed today: Cummins-Bennett Company, Continental Baking Powder Company, Tennessee Packing & Stock yards Company, Nashville Union stock Yards Co., Enterprise Soap Works, Merchants Wire Bound Box Company.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gillem will be held this afternoon from the home of her brother, John D. Cummins, 2300 Patterson street. The services will be conducted by the Rev. R. Lin Cave. The interment will be at Mt. Olivet.
