CHRYSTAL G. GRANT

Chrystal G. Grant (nee Geiter), 89, of Carneys Point died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County.

Born in Deepwater, daughter of the late Harry and Chrystal Martzel Geiter, she had been a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Grant had been a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Salem where she had been a member of the Altar Guild. She had been a former member of the Church of Our Merciful Saviour in Penns Grove and the church's Altar Guild.

She had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Penns Grove-Carneys Point Library, and Salem County Red Cross.

She had been a member of the Penns Grove-Carneys Point Women's Club.

Mrs. Grant enjoyed spending her summers at the Jersey shore.

She is survived by her husband, Robert H., sons, Harry of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert H. Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Carneys Point, Richard and his wife Patricia of Carneys Point, Stephen and his wife Barbara of Bridgeton, a sister, Lois Laconti of New Hampshire, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Grant was predeceased by two sisters, Annamary Basset and Katherine Harkins.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 76 Market St., Salem.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the ASHCRAFT FUNERAL HOMES, Penns Grove and Pennsville.
